What Moxie is

Moxie is a venture-backed med-spa back-office platform serving thousands of independent medspas, with a bundled practice-management system, EMR, and as of late 2024, a "Compliance Defender" module. Compliance Defender adds GFE reminders, medical-director coordination, incident reporting, and audit-ready reporting to the Moxie EMR. It's the most ambitious compliance offering inside a med-spa-specific platform.

What ProofOps Medical is

ProofOps Medical is a standalone AI evidence assistant for Texas med spas, IV clinics, and aesthetic dermatology practices. It works alongside whatever EMR you already run — Aesthetic Record, Boulevard, Symplast, PatientNow, Nextech, Mangomint — and centralizes evidence around Texas-specific frameworks (§169.25, HB 3749, OSHA 1910.1030, HIPAA, FDA DSCSA).

When Moxie is the right answer

When ProofOps Medical is the right answer

The big practical difference: Moxie Compliance Defender requires Moxie's EMR. If you're on a different EMR and don't want to switch, ProofOps is the only available "compliance-officer-style" product that doesn't force a PMS migration.

Honest weaknesses

Moxie's weakness for a non-Moxie clinic: the EMR-coupling. You can't buy Compliance Defender without Moxie's PMS, and migrating your existing EMR is a multi-month project most clinics don't have appetite for. For a clinic happy with their current EMR, Moxie is unavailable.

ProofOps Medical's weakness: we're not the patient-flow tool. We don't book appointments, process payments, or run the front-desk. If you're starting from scratch and want one vendor for everything, Moxie's all-in-one is a real advantage. ProofOps assumes you already have a PMS that works.

How they compare on the Texas-specific stack

Moxie's Compliance Defender is general — built for the national med-spa market. ProofOps is structured around Texas: TMB §169.25, HB 3749, Texas Board of Nursing, Texas state aesthetic-board references, and the actual document set inspectors and underwriters in Texas ask for. For Texas-specific buyers, that structuring matters.
